You can get cheap tailoring from a Hong Kong based company called http://www.raja-fashions.com/ - They have some huge operation verging on sweatshop scale but it means that you can get high quality fabrics and a tailored fit at the same price as off the shelf crap.
Their main tailor flies around constantly doing fittings (in hotel rooms - yes it sounds dodgy but they are really professional). They have a list of cities he visits on the site and he's covering quite a few places in the US next month.
