You need to show people what's possible. This is what I think you should do:
1 -> Contact a selection of talented designers, with beautiful work, who are currently using rival portfolio providers.
2 -> Offer each of these designers a free basic accounts for life. In the grand scheme of things, it's not going to cost your company much.
3 -> Help each of them create a beautiful 4ormat portfolio.
4 -> Use these newly created portfolios to promote your own site.
Unless you have examples of what's possible, it's going to be difficult to convince people to sign up.
