  I'm talking about two different sites that link to each other but both happen to be owned by the same person. That wouldn't be marked negatively since there's nothing wrong with simply linking to another site you run.

  What I wonder though is, at what level does Google "collect intelligence?" Do they look at the IP being the same and discount the link because of that? Do they know that I registered both domains at Godaddy? etc

  • I think that would be a waste of resources - there's no reason why you couldn't be the owner of two successful domains.lukus_W
