Interestingly since Steve Jobs was the financial backer for Pixar, since Disney bought pixar Steve Jobs is now the largest single shareholder of Disney...cha-ching.

Also, I support Apple's methods, their aim was always to make computers as simple as possible to the average user, they do this by controlling both the hardware and the software so they work seamlessly. The majority of users don't want to have to get technical with their computers, quite the opposite. They don't support flash because as Steve Jobs said, more often than not when a mac or safari crashes it's because of flash (his words).

The thing I don't like about the App store is they make it seem like it's truly open (like proper open source platforms) but they really control it all.

If you want more open source I'd go for the obvious choices... linux etc.

    • no their aim is to control people experience of the net, you can make things easy without blocking contents, this is bs (angry key strokes with no caps)GeorgesII
    • exactly. the general public wouldn't know what to do with linux.vespa
    • vespa: if it weren't for file compatibility (office) Linux distros provide all the tools out of the box for everyday use.zarkonite
