Question: If you took all the money in this country and divided it between everyone equally, what do you think you would have in 10 years?
Answer: Wealthy and poor.
Sorry it's just human nature. Some people make good decisions and some make bad. Do you guys all torn up if you read a story about someone who had millions and then lost it making a stupid decision? I think we should all try and help less fortunate people who don't get to sit on their computers in a nifty design related message board all day. But this gov stealing from the wealthy concept is a bad idea. Anyone ever look at the poverty level over the last 60 or so years.. it's flat. Meaning government cheese doesn't really do much to improve the poverty situation.
I personally don't know a single person you would consider 'wealthy' who didn't start with absolutely nothing. Probably an anomaly, but still the thought that people can't work their way into a higher socio-economic position is complete bullshit.
- it's said to take 3 generations for it to redistribute againversion3
- Who is suggesting this?Mimio
- Look at the countries with the highest GDP per capita. tell me what their economic & taxation systems arelike.Mimio
- All I'm speaking of is human nature. I honestly, and sadly, don't have the time to research other countries GDP atm. :(mathinc
- And as far as 'suggesting this' I'm just saying in the most extreme case of wealth redistribution you'd have to acknowledge that I'm right. At leastmathinc
- agree that I'm right at least in the idea that over time classes are formed regardless of what you do to make it 'fair.'mathinc
- Do you always have to prop up your straw man before you speak?DrBombay
- I could see you having a mannequin that you carry around with you, to use the carpool lane.DrBombay
- Do you actually have anything to add that challenges my opinion?mathinc
- Maybe something you'd like to say which would cause you to use complete sentences and a well thought out response. Preferably devoidmathinc
- Show off your reading comprehension skills and grasp of concepts other than the ones you've been indoctrinated with?mathinc
- Your hypothetical makes no sense. You invent a nonexistent opponent and then battle them, everyday.DrBombay
- I'd be a nice change from this angry, petty persona you devolve into when you don't agree with someone.mathinc
- No one has proposed what you are saying here, you invent a concept, wack it out to extremes and then oppose it.DrBombay
- And then get pissed when people don't challenge you on it.DrBombay
- I guess your reading comprehension is still lacking, which is sad. Try and follow this logic. I KNOW no one is proposingmathinc
- proposing it (I already said that). What I'm illustrating is that even IF you did the most extreme type of wealth redistributionmathinc
- what you'd end up with is exactly the same thing we have now. My POINT is that there are and will always be, socio-economic classesmathinc
- classes. I never stated that anyone suggested this, I don't suggest that anyone else wants this, all this is is a hypothetical question.mathinc
- question that uses the concept of wealth redistribution in it's purest form and projecting it's outcome. Follow?mathinc
- What is the point of all of this?DrBombay
- You're a conservative, we get it. The Gov is "stealing from the wealthy"DrBombay
- You aren't wealthy...DrBombay
- So what that I'm not wealthy? That should change my opinion?mathinc
- You have what is known as "peasant mentality", don't upset your overlords. They create your reality.DrBombay
- Who's creating the strawman now?mathinc
- Besides, not to gloat, but I do actually pay a small fortune in taxes. If you were in that situation you'd probably feel a littlemathinc
- little bit more like I do. I actually work my ass off and make pretty decent money.mathinc
- You have no clue how much money I make, don't assume to.DrBombay
- "At all costs we must not impose any regulations on our financial overlords!"DrBombay
- I've assumed and you're right. But it makes sense considering your angry attitude towards success. Forgive me if I'm wrong.mathinc
- wrong.mathinc
- Ahhh more strawmen. Okay I can see this is going nowhere. I'm going to get back to my well paying project. :Dmathinc
- Enjoy any rebates or social programs you or the people close to you enjoy. You're welcome. No, don't thank me.mathinc
- Angry attitude towards success... Explain that with examples.DrBombay
- I love your assumptions. You are an extremely arrogant person. That is why I don't like you.DrBombay
- If I spent time finding all the 'rich people are assholes' examples then I wouldn't be able to contribute to the commonmathinc
- good. So no, I'd rather go ahead and work than play with you today.mathinc
- Has nothing to do with your politics. It is that arrogant attitude of superiority you exude.DrBombay
- You equate being rich with success. It shows how shallow you are yet again.DrBombay
- And you said yourself that you aren't rich. Have fun being a failure in your own eyes.DrBombay
- No, you don't like me because I'm smarter and better looking than you. Which isn't my fault you see. Luck of the Irish!mathinc
- I never said I was rich. I work hard and make pretty good money is what I said. And then I said I was good looking and smart.mathinc
- smart. Which is inconsequential but I still feel like it's somewhat relevant no? Maybe not. Maybe I just felt good saying it.mathinc
- So did you say that you disagree with the hypothetical Q&A? If so please tell me what you think would be the A to the Q.mathinc
- You could have a trillion bucks and you would still be a culture-less reactionary slob.DrBombay
- Wow, that's what you think of me? You know I invited you to have a phone conversation with me once, and that offer will always be yours for the acceptancemathinc
- always be yours for the acceptance. But it's clear you don't know who I am in the slightest. Likewise, I don't knowmathinc
- who you are either. But I wanted to find out. I tried. I put myself out there to have a friendly chat so we could get past all this pettiness.mathinc
- What's the point of that? Your libertarian/conserva... BS is all based on hypotheticals.DrBombay
- pettiness. It's what real people do. But you declined. So I'm the culture less slob? You can't even stand the thought of talking to me on the phone to resolve our differences, like cultured people?mathinc
- me on the phone to resolve our differences, like cultured people?mathinc
- There is no resolution, you love and value money more than anything on Earth.DrBombay
- It is all you ever talk about in this thread. You are all-consumed with money.DrBombay
- I think people with different ideologies can generally get along. Call me crazy or just call me. < thats a pick up line btw.mathinc
- Man honestly you know nothing about me if you think all I care about is money. That's just your excuse to hate me. Immature.mathinc
- I care about nothing but money...
*lights match and torches all the 'straw creatures'PonyBoy - Look at every post of yours in this thread and notice the common theme.DrBombay
- Rick, we do have something in common, I think we just created one of the longest comment strings on this site. Ever.mathinc
- No see you equate my position of the gov as a money issue, it's a power issue and way too complex to go into here.mathinc
- This we can agree on.DrBombay
- The longest notes, that is.DrBombay
- Which brings us full circle to your reading comprehension skill set. :Dmathinc
- I made you waste time by scrolling to see this.DrBombay
- DAMMMMNNN YOUUUUUU!!!!mathinc
- Wow. A thread within a thread. Impressive.luckyorphan
