  Thanks for the responses guys -

  I was imagining taking a photo photoshop prepared photo and talking it into illustrator to then apply this shading technique for a sharper and more scalable illustration etc..

  • That would be a lot of work, only worth it if you need to scale the image from stamp-sized up to billboard.
