I just picked up the album by The Stills, heard it at Virgin the other day and it was pretty cool.
But the Strokes, they get credit, yeah, but more for how much opportunity they gave to so many other better bands who don't get shoved at everyone, like The Libertines, The Datsuns, Jet, etc.
Don't know if The Strokes had much to with the rise of the White Stripes-I don't think they did at all but I've seen the contrary written a few times.
