First let say that I've been commuting via train to work for the past 4 years and I would love to have a train like that, I lose almost 3 hours daily in public transportation.
So China made a fast train that will be able to commute faster between cities, thus reducing the amount of time you have to wait and also increasing the amount of people it can transport from point A to B in a short time.
I see china is investing more money in green alternative than the US or the entire world to be frank (ask Warren Buffet where his money is right now) http://www.cnbc.com/id/26916857

As for the debate about coal, you can't run anything on solar or wind right now, and for china having 4 times the population of the US, the US is still the biggest polluter per "capita" of this poor rock

China 6,017,000,000(total CO2 emm.) / 1,325,639,982 people = 4.53893 metric tons/person

USA 5,902,000,000(total CO2 emm)/304,059,724 people = 19.4106603 metric tons/person- http://www.guardian.…utopian

- the US is still a bigger polluter than China per capita, but note that while the US output has stayed about the same over the last 20 years, China's has more than doubled. The problem is the rate at which they are industrializing.acescence
