i don't like flash anymore.
it's not an simple elegant tool.
it's a bloated kids toy. made from bright coloured plastic. with potentially gender bending toxins.it's not a professional, solid, elegant, useful tool for interactive designers.
unless you've been using it since flash mx and rolled with the changes you're going to struggle massively. if i'd never used flash before and i had to learn CS4 i'd be so confused about what i'm supposed to do with it. it's got 3D...well not really. It's got a bones tool... that you can't edit after it's been setup. it's got a motion editor... that is so awkward to use.. and you can simply add interactivity with actionscript - all you need is a degree in computer science and a background c+ programming.
it's useless for animation now unless it's simple frame per frame drawing for which the onion tool is it's only useful feature (and that's been there since day 1).
It's a hacked mess full of bug ridden additional features that have 5 minutes of fame before everyone says "what's the point" and then gets back to making proper websites with jquery etc.
It's only really use for banner adverts. so why not make a specific banner advert making app. instead of adding iphone export to it. why not stuff it full of features and short cuts for banner advert creation. like some sort of automatic ad resizing tool.
and the single most annoying thing i can't stand about flash is this:
you make a website in flash and it still bloody needs a pre-loader.
in 2010 we'll still be 'preloading' flash websites. pants to that.
- doesnt really need a preloader if content is loaded in - but yep this man talks a lot of sense. banner ad app would be cool.********
