    I usually split the docs into two:

    1. Spec/scope document which includes full scope of what is to be delivered along with timescale & cost quote.

    2. Work agreement/contract which confirms 1. and then my working terms, hours, payment schedule etc.

    Just send them as word docs. Been using pretty much the same docs for 3 years full time freelance and never had any issues.
