The whole PC build it youself argument does mean anything to me. I dont WANT to build a computer. Just like I dont want to build my car, my camera, my cell phone, or my toaster. I like to purchase one that works and works well. And it all works together seemlessly. PC heads never understand the concept that the mac OS is optimized for the hardware that is choosen and designed by the same company to create a flawless compatibility. So their are no drivers that need to be installed, no firmware updates, and user issues... it just runs together. This compatibilty is researched by the tech team, that's their job, what they do best, and what they get paid for. I am a designer not an ITT tech boy. I have a shitload of work to do everyday and have no interest or time in building my machine.
You don't build your own CD player, or television, or gas stove, and life goes on. I'm sure if you did it can possibly be cheaper also.
And even if I did build a PC for 40 cents I still have to deal with an OS that I hate (Wintel) and all the crap that comes with it. I rather purchase a working unit, plug it in, and start making money with it. Oh, and actually enjoy my working expierence.
