rob kelly, yale GD professor hypothesized that 4 years of undergraduate is not enough to develop a true designer. rather, he felt that 5 years (like many interior and industrial design) would help develop a real designer. problem is, many professors who are teaching may have only had 2 years undergraduate classes in GD and maybe 2 years for their masters. hmm...
