and this is confusing because...?
who did you think would corner the market? safari? outside of design/art/film who uses macs? less than 5% of the entire world i'd imagine. and of that remaining 95% would it really surprise you that a significant percentage are not savvy enough or couldn't care less about the benefits of firefox over IE6? and that isn't even bringing gov't agencies and intranet sites into the equation, most with IE-proprietary code with no reason or budget to update.
