'Actually I think the crap (not meister) we had/have to deal with makes us better designers in the end... '
ximeraLabs
it makes us more down to earth designers i am sure.
my background. well, i was born in the golden year of 1977 and was trained as a 3D designer. when i was studying i was sure this was not what i was going to do for the rest of my life.
i reckon thats the whole point about school, rebellion, getting convinced to take it lots further. i see that schoolperiod as an incubationtime, getting angry and building up motivation as long as you keep it constructive. ppl who have to redo a year or two have a plus in that. they have to think and ask themselves'what am i doing?!' the fact i had to do that saved me i think.
i graduated on friday and started working on monday at Créneau, back then a kickass office.
it was there i made the switch from 3D design to graphics/communication.
Créneau made clear to me that i should see myself as a designer, a creative person rather than somebody specialised in this or that and it proves to be paying of.
Afetr Créneaus bankruptcy i moved on to work in Brussels and Antwerp (TheseDays). After some miserable experiences there I'm back in Brussels and freelancing. I'll be teaming up with a couple of fellow designers in a near future but more soon about that cause still nothing to show you about that (work in progress)
Rough times but keeping it up.
Voilà.quite a read wasnt it?
