This was one of the most crushing things I have heard in a long long time...it was inevitable but completely unexpected. Having spent much time in many parts of the country listening to Elliott has really made it feel like a soundtrack to my life.
For a while I thought that Good Will Hunting was one of my favorite films of all-time and really it hit me 3 years ago that it was Elliott that made the film. The Tenenbaums wouldn't be the Tenenbaums without Elliott. I'll never forget interviewing Mary Lou Lord at the pinnacle of her career and having her admit that Elliott's throw away song was better than anything she wrote...
Now if only Quasi's Poison Well wasn't prophetic...
