I know you were looking for some constructive help. But I think for that you came to teh wrong place. Web designers in generally don't have a traditional design education, and therefore teh background to constructivly address such issues. But I can tell you this...as I remember years back when I studied different schools of design, there are distinct differences, controdictory to what the main populous has pulled out of their arses. I think your best bet, is to go to a libarary and look up Dutch school of design and Belgium and find out the clear distinct differences...I know you were hoping for an easy answere, but there is no such thing.
