I was at a recruiting event at a college last week and we had about 4 visual design students come up with resumes.
NOT ONE OF THEM HAD A PORTFOLIO!
WTF, really? I mean not even online, not even a flickr account FFS! This was on Thursday and I gave each of them my card and told them to get some work online and I'll hang on to their resumes and we'd take it from there, something of a second chance. So far I've gotten nothing.
You'd think in this job market you'd do what you could to stand out and be noticed and realize that a visual field would require visual representation of work, not just a list of office apps you can use. Unreal.
