  honestly I don't get what you are hating so much on these.
  Ok, I dont particulary dig his subjects, but it obvious he does that for himself, at least he doesn't put any nike logo on it pretending these are actual comissioned work.

  I find more reason to hate when I see "wanabee builds" putting some random word in Helvetica tightly kerned, hoping that makes them uber cool and trendy.
