As acescence said, choose a wifi channel as far as possible from other networks in the area. There are channels 1-11 available in the US, try to use one that is two channels away from nearest network if possible (ie if ch2 is taken, use ch4 rather than ch3). Use wifi stumbler software to find out which channels other networks are using.There are free stumblers for iPhone, I think.
