Sorry to hear about this. My apt was robbed a few years ago, about a month after my Father In Law died and they took the rings he left for my husband/his son, as well as some valuable coins, and all of my jewelry. However they left my computer and all of our band equipment (go figure!). I guess they just needed stuff that could be carried easily. Renter's insurance covered some of it (not the coins though). It's definitely a horrible feeling knowing someone came into your space (we think the guy was staking out the place before hand, so it's a creepy feeling). So I empathize.
They will just wipe your computer though, so you're probably OK on that score.
