everyone SELLING luxury goods has to buy into it AND sell their customers on that notion. Chances are that the actual person buying luxury goods as an end consumer doesn't give a rats ass if it's actually a quality piece, just that people around them (or themselves) believes that it's worth their money. Shit, luxury is not indicative of quality (look at super expensive but shit quality "luxury" cars).
