    We've got one and it's totally taken over our TV habits - we barely watch cable TV anymore and yes - it DOES do 1080p via HDMI.

    Only drawbacks:

    1: It only works (unless you hack it) with iTunes, therefore any media must be in mp4/m4v format. No AVI, etc.. unless you convert.

    2: Although it does stream anything via iTunes, if searching, you have to do it character by character which is annoying.

    Otherwise - if you use iTunes a lot - it's really good.
