Brick Lane is only fun on a Sunday when you can sample food from all the stalls (going from spit-roast pork, bison burgers, horse meat to thai, japanese,...), browse some CDs at Rough Trade East, stroll around Brick Lane (its busy though, and full of hipsters), or look around for some clothes and useless junk at Spitalfields Market (its very, very sanitized now compared to a few years ago) - but might be fun to do. Then you can stroll through a deserted City of London (i.e. the financial district), go look at the Lloyds building and The Gherkin and make your way to St. Pauls (by then you're pretty much in the area that hans_glib recommended).

    • brick lane is always fun if you like to get drunk, play darts and eat cheap bagels and curry.
