    If it's just a case of feeling pressured into drinking because of social engagements - try drinking pints of lime and soda . It's cheap - you'll save a lot of money + your tolerance for a shit night will be reduced without the alcohol, which could kick start you into making a lot more positive changes (if they're needed).

    I don't know how much of what you're saying is flippant, but if alcohol is a very big problem indeed, maybe consider AA. I know people it's helped a lot. It's an obvious (pretty scary) conclusion to reach - but sooner or later a lot of people have to reach it.
