urgh...I can't say about a phone dialer on MAC. What about the program you use to connect to a PPP?
I'm not trying to incite any arguments, but all the software you need comes standard in winders. even the worlds worst sound recorder (which is cleverly named "sound recorder" hahaha)
Not sure about your splicing operation, either. I've done it successfully before with an old 900 mhz headset. Although I put it into a cassette deck, not a sound card. Should still work in theory. the audio has to be coming through one of those wires.
