Laptop is a great way to go, especially the 15 and 17" macs. But, if you're a designer, which I assume you are being on this website, I'd suggest you have a second monitor to connect in when you're at home to give yourself ample desktop real estate. IF you have the money though and only do occasional road work, buy a G5 and a little iBook or 12" G4 laptop.
