at no stage does a down arrow work in my books. the symbology is simply negative. especially one dealing in or around finance. yes markets go up and down but the down isn't one that you advertise and if you're a market watchdog or a blog tracking the market you want to convey that people reading your views can trust their money / shares / whatever to go up because you know your stuff. the best businesses in the universe go down also at times but nobody advertises that fact.
again, just my 2 cents.
