How annoying.
Can you turn the question around and make them choose?
eg, my hourly is this, how long do you want me to spend? The longer i spend the happier your clients will be.
Tell them not to be so childish, fucking grow up, then say you can't work like this. your budget is 70% of theirs and you'll adjust your hours and efforts accordingly. *slam phone down.
