I still don't understand how waiters don't get proper salaries. I feel like this happens more in the U.S.A. than in other places, because I don't feel the need to go around tipping every single person out there. I mean, if you're tipping a bartender, should you be tipping a person who works at Starbucks? Maybe the wages over there suck (maybe here too, and I just don't know), but it should not just be the customer's burden (not that it's a huge deal to tip, but people should think about who to tip and who not to more often). I have worked in a various parts of the service industry and I know that many people will give you your money back if you attempt to tip them.

    • I have had shit, shit jobs where tipping would've been nice, but it's not expected. That's the difference.juhls
    • I know I sound harsh here, but there needs to be a change in the actual system as well.juhls
    • How people don't make minimum wage is just baffling to me.juhls
    • welcome to america. have a nice day.sigg
    • come on, tippin is common everywhere, not only america. the whole world is fucked up...jimbojones
    • It is common, but in some cities it's a bit ridiculous. Where you have to tip every person you come across.juhls
    • I don't want to harm the workers in any way, but I don't think people realize that some ppl never get tipped.juhls
    • and they do harder work than waiters and bartenders.juhls
    • I mean, from what I know. Can't generalize too much...juhls
