i think the 118 degrees name gives you a lot of options to play with but you want to keep it subtle and not too abstract. although the above might work for a club night, i don't think it suits a restaurant very well.

here is a simple idea, modifying the G so that it is acting as a cooker dial turned to 118 degrees whilst maintaining readability.

    • looks like 118 deqrees to mewrong
    • interesting, but the G turns into a Q a bit, does it not?Corvo2
    • fair point. hard to judge when you already know what the word is meant to be. i guess you would need to test it.TINKLDN
    • is that rotated 28 degrees to the right?version3
    • following that option maybe the G needs a vertical spin to the left since lowest temps are set by turning the button...Corvo2
    • to the lowest counter-clockwise point.Corvo2
    • also in ovens, 118 degrees is marked on the lower left of the panel.Corvo2
    • I think Tink was using a vertical axis, v3.Corvo2
    • yeah, it is 118 from the top. assuming the full circle is 360, not 400 or 450 as on a cooker.TINKLDN
    • anyway, just an idea.TINKLDN
    • eerm. i meant lower right, not lower left (in ovens). In most cooking plates buttons turn ccw.Corvo2
