What does "118 Degrees" refers to? Is it an ideal cooking temp? A door number? Or just a random name? You could use what it means to enhance the logomark instead of just looking for a nice typographical effect.
If you think of a logo as a sculpture you can use that Aristotle allegory of the stone block: the statue is already there, you just have remove the parts that do not belong to it.
