Okay let me answer your question for real...
I took a pay cut from my last job before the whole economy downturn. I made the decision for a few reasons...one was to move to a different state. And the other reason was because I hated my job (0 design, more interface stuff) and knew I would like the new position (my current job).
The job I am in now is about 100 times better than my last. Where it was hard to take a significant pay cut, happiness and general well-being cannot be replaced with compensation. Not sure I would take a pay cut just because the economy is in it's current state, but I would for reasons like those listed above. I think lots of places are trying to capitalize on the "hurting economy" and get away with paying people shit. I would say set a limit and don't take anything below that....but be willing to make a bit less than your ideal if you think you would really love the job.
