another suggestion which is helping me along ALOT right now...I just bought Flash ActionScript for Designers: DragSlideFade by Brendan Dawes.
In the forward, Hillman Curtis writes "This is a book that encourages you to become a designer who is not afraid to script". God bless them both! Go get it.
