My 2 cents -
was messing around with WP for a couple weeks for a personal project I'm working on but ditched it for Expression Engine a few days ago - so far, so good.
WP is great in lots of ways but I found the admin interface super annoying after a while. It's really geared towards blogging and people who need to get running quickly with a template. And when you reach a certain level of complexity in terms of data, trying to make it jump through hoops to do what you need, doesn't seem worth it.
ee on the other hand is completely generic, both in terms of the UI and functionality. A really cool features is that with the Multi Site plug in you can manage several domains at once using the same login and even have them render from the same UI templates.
On the negative side, it does cost, and in general I'd prefer software like this to be free. Maybe in the future WP will roll out a version more geared towards use as a generic CMS, at which point I'd consider moving back to it.
