I hear what you are saying websuperhero from your comment in moths post above.
Yes, by giving it an acronym it makes it sound something dark and mysterious or an exact science, a word for marketing guys or board members to throw around at meetings to make themselves sound like they know what it's all about when really they've just seen it mentioned in the latest issue of "Marketing Bullsh*t Weekly".
This week it's "SEO", last week they were mentioning "Twitter" and the week before that was "Facebook" they were throwing around.And by giving it that acronym and making it a buzzword like that is really only playing into the hands of these SEO companies who are completely based on bullsh*t and will take your money and give you nothing back for it.
It is definitely about adding value to a site, giving your client a site that works for them and performs well revealing relevant content when people are searching for the services/products that the company offers.
It isnt just the SEO guy/company that's going to get your site high up on google ratings, it's a combined effort from everyone - the designer, seo person, copyrighter and the people who keep the site updated. everyone plays a part.- 23kon - thank you ;-)********
