    Well...technology is great but dust and particles are enemies.

    On the canon G7 there was a similar problem with dust inside the lens, despite of being a compact, dust came into it.

    So, it might be the case for you.

    You could send it back to Sony in order to have it cleaned but, as the review says, another tiny dust particle could go into it.

    To clean it, out of warranty it is not that expensive. However, I would buy a new one and keep the 'old' for just fun shots.

    You might be lucky and Sony might say it is a manufacturing issue and give you a new one. Contact Sony HQ and go from there. Be aware that if your camera is checked, Sony engineer can see whether there are shock impact...[in case you dropped it] and damaged the inside.
