I recently thought of buying a mbp for my designwork but after some research I found out it had rather inferior hardware on board. For the same price you'd get a lenovo W700 with one of the best graphics cards (NVIDIA Quadro FX 2700M) and a kickass processor. Didn't take me long to make a choice...
And if it's all about status and bling, get yourself the dual screen...
