    lol, it was a little script i wrote a while back to imitate this

    Jürg Lehni had his own script which someone commissioned him to make, but refused to share it, so it was commical when I uploaded it on his own site, he banned me at first, but then we became friends

    (the pic above does initially had the same effect, except that I used simplify for a "rawer" look)

    the script uses a bitmap image in illustrator (blur it a little beforehand )

    • still abit oblivious about how to usecolour
    • got illy open with some text and a few lines - nothin happeningcolour
    • 1. put extrude.js in the script directory for scriptographer plugin
      2. paste a bitmap image in illustrator

    • 3. select it, find etrude,js in the script list in the little window and hit play button
      ********
    • does it have to be bitmap - not png/jpg ?colour
    • any raster image, i guess
