    Yeesh. What have I started. It was meant only as a rant against a pesky developer I'm working with...

    Khurram, a Scotch Roman is a style of transitional serif type along the lines of Caledonia, Wilson or Miller (Matthew Carter's homage to several Scotch Roman types). The originals were cut in the late 18th/ early 19th century in Scotland, but became more popular in the U.S. in subsequent years.

    I have a fondness for Scotch Roman types, thus my screen name.

    There is nothing improper about calling a typeface a Scotch Roman, anymore than there is in calling my uisge single malt scotch.
