It's finally over! That was amazing! We didn't win, but we were the best new band! We did so bad at sound check, I was singing like two octaves below normal because I hadn't warmed up and our bassist couldn't make it, so we left during the first two bands' sets to practice at a different school then ran back, caught the rest and finally came on (we closed the show). I sang, much better than I expected and though obvious I was a beginner (as in, started singing just one week ago...) I stayed on pitch, in time, and consistent volume by the second verse which made me so happy since I never sang into a mic before in my life. We didn't fuck up any of the guitar parts either, weren't at all selfish about the solos, and my buddies in the crowd got a whole group of super mega hotties to shout my name after our set! I had a lot of fun with them right after too, but right now I just got home after dropping my friend off so I couldn't get wasted or anything! Can't wait for our SECOND GIG, whenever it ends up being. I really want to take this vocal thing more seriously, because I was able to play lead at the same time which got lots of compliments from everyone (but mostly the other guitarist/singers) and I think if I could improve my tone it could be killer!

It feels really good to get that over with, we were a surprise to everyone and playing to a packed auditorium including friends and parents who've never heard you sing before makes me feel like I can do it anywhere. All in all though it was really fun, and since we only had three practices as a band it was crazy good I think, can't wait to do it again.
