I like starting in nurbs then switching the geometry to polys. Too many packages today are missing nurbs. Max has them but they're slow and they suck. Lightwave has patches instead of them. C4D doesn't have true nurbs-just some subd thing called hypernurbs.
- subdivision surfaces are a good compromise - you get the low-weight of polygon modelling + the iterative levels of smoothness of NURBS..********
