And Rick, it'd be nice if more people in this country attributed their problems with their own decisions and not blame everything on the 'situation' they feel has nothing to do with their actions. This btw has NOTHING to do with 'every man for himself' and EVERYTHING to do personal responsibility. You seem hell bent on taking the plight of the very least fortunate in society and claiming it as your own. 'If you're capable' what's wrong with that? You know exactly who that is meant to exclude from the 'get off your ass' statement but that's not good enough for your sensibilities. It's meant to exclude the very least fortunate, which doesn't include you, to get off their ass and make something of themselves. What the fuck is wrong with expecting every able bodied man or woman to try to make something of themselves??
