I had an Epson R1800, loved the print quality but hated the high maintenance, and the tendency for it to flake out whenever a deadline was near. The Epson really seemed to have a "stressed owner" sensor, and it misfed whenever a deadline was close.... Paper feeding issues happened very 5 or 6 pages.
The R1800 drove me insane and I threw it in a storage locker, never to be seen again.... I'm not gonna lose a client over a printer that I can never count on to finish stuff by deadline....
I got a Canon 9500 and it just works. Fewer paper choices than Epson, etc.. but it just works....
