Bwahaha.... Obama let it slip that 'this' is not a Christian nation. Diplomacy aside it has to be as much a personal conviction and statement as much as a political one.
Obama is a smart, educated man - of COURSE he doesn't believe that some cosmic jewish zombie can make him live forever if he symbolically eats his flesh and telepathically asks him to be his lord and master so he remove and evil force from his soul which is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a taking snake to eat from a magical tree.
Of course he doesn't, just like every other rational sane person doesn't, only most of them feel they have to say they do as to not upset their family, who've all agreed to say this as well. And to be sure, if I'd have HAD to have said it to get the job I wanted, I'd sure as hell turn round a few months into it and coded say that I didn't believe this crap, and I'd be bloody glad when I did, just to stick the finger up at all the moneyed, powerful lunatics that have sneakily taken over the back rooms of this country and made it 'christian'.- ^ya but the constitution isnt based on atheist principles. just a thoughtrobco
- what exactly are atheist principles?DrBombay
- They are the same Humanist prinicples that Xians cherry pick their current 'modern' biblical interpretations from.mikotondria3
- maybe we can have the atheists write a new neo-moral constitution then.robco
