  To do a whole or large portion of a portfolio this way might be too extreme an approach and become a turnoff, especially for something that is supposed to be visual to begin with.
  That said, it might be really interesting and compelling to do a few select pieces with you talking through the process while showing components, or doing a 'pitch to completion' type of delivery.
