    Minneapolis had its day. Back in the 90's (heh, I'm old), it had a great music scene and MCAD was a hotbed of talent and teachers (Jancout, Makela, Munzner and many others from the Crany-brook post-modern clan on staff).

    It turned out a lot of talent that leads the broadcast industry today, i.e. directors tylevich (logan), p. brown (bauda). Unfortunately, there was a migration to NYC and LA, and now it's a shadow of itself.

    Mcad has now turned into the midwest academy for funeral photography and out-of-shape comic artists. The faculty is mostly comprised of rejects from their mfa program, and the job market is 90 percent target (le targete'). Creative shops like Fallon look more like a office furniture store, and all of the original members are long gone.

    On top of it all (IMO) minnesota nice is now minnesota mean;

    Todays choices are limited to the coasts for top creative jobs. But there are always companys like MK12 and Planet Propaganda that are exceptions to the rules, however, I don't know of any like those in minneapolis.

    • Jancourt is still there...he's teaching my senior projects class right now.coco_ono
    • Physically, yes Jan is still there, but after he knocked up his second wife last year, his passion has greatly decreased. Which is a sad state, being that he is still one of the most intelligent people I have ever met.frediscrazy
