done exact the same with a WD drive - except not off a table simply from hand to table as I put it down so less than a 6 inch drop. Drive completely screwed. Tried and paid for data recovery services and got nothing from it. I've since bought two portable drives and now back up one with the other. It has really screwed me - even now almost a year on I'm still trying to recreate work I lost on that drive.
Sorry, I'd say not good news for you. I too had the clicking etc.
