Life after death

monospaced, why exactly is it sad that I believe in life after death? Could it be that there are some knowable things outside the realm of your experience? Or did you create all of this?
I don't believe in the afterlife because I "find it reassuring to think that there is a special place we all go after we die". I believe in it because it's in God's word, which you will only laugh at of course, but also because he has proven to me, beyond any shadow of a doubt, that he is good; that his love endures forever; and that since we are made in his image, our souls (i.e. minds) are eternal. He has proven it by too many events in my life to list here, and through the lives of others. Most importantly, he has proven it in the life, death, and resurrection of Christ, which was witnessed by thousands of people.
It's foolish to assume that something is impossible simply because it doesn't make sense to you personally. Could it be that there is a God whom you and I can barely comprehend?
