I'm an aglo in Montreal, but I'm lucky my french is decent. I work for a big agency, and for sure the language of business is French. It certainly helps to know the language, but if you make a genuine effort, and you have the chops, you can definitely get by.

Zarkonite and Benfall have put together a pretty good list up there. All of them are top-notch design studios / comm. agencies. For interactive, I would add:

    http://www.provokat.com
    http://www.bluesponge.com (my previous employer)
    http://www.nurun.com

Aside from the studios though, I think Montreal has an amazing and supportive creative community. People just do shit and help each other out. This to me is the best part of this city.

PS. anyone out there ever work for Nolin?

    • I worked at nurun and didnt like it at all... but it was a couple years ago. may have changed now.benfal99
    • I've never heard anyone liking their experience at nurun...zarkonite
    • A bunch of ex-co workers are now there. They were good peeps, so maybe the dynamics have changed.LOKi
