There is a definite difference, just with anything else. Now that being said, there is value in all instruments.

As a guitar player for over 23 years, I have become obsessed with finding the perfect tones and sounds of guitars. These tones are generally found in the high quality staples of the guitar world. Gibson, Fender, Prs, Guild, Martin , etc ,etc. They are built by professional craftsman and they sound like it.

Now, if I want to achieve a certain tone or personality with a cheap , beat up POS that's cool too. I have done that before. But there IS a difference between a funky pawn shop clank and a Les Paul Custom. No argument.

Same thing goes for amps. The more you sculpt your tone, the more you realize the $$ shit is that for a reason. Because they know what they are doing. Try putting a crappy crate or line6 up against a Rivera or a VHT. Night and day.
